Chromebooks & Technology

CHROMEBOOKS:

All 7th-12th grade students at  Berryhill Public Schools will be issued a Chromebook. All Kdg - 6th grade students will have access to individual chromebooks in their classroom that can be checked out to students in case of distance learning.  Chromebooks are used to integrate technology into students' education,as well as provide opportunities for students to collaborate, communicate, create, and apply critical thinking skills. Chromebooks can be used anywhere and anytime, if connected to Wi-Fi, but can only be accessed with student’s school provided google accounts.   Click here for our Chromebook Program Overviews for High School & Middle School.

Chromebooks are filtered using web filtering software to ensure the privacy and safety of all students.  Berryhill Public Schools also utilizes Go-Guardian, which filters web content at the school site as well as on all school issued student devices connected to any network worldwide. This means that no matter where your student chooses to go online with their school device, they are protected.  Go-Guardian also monitors student internet usage to ensure that students are using the device appropriately and responsibly and abides by student privacy protection regulations, such as COPPA, FERPA, and CIPA.

Students and parents are responsible for the care or any damage to the Chromebook.  Insurance is available to cover the cost of repairs or damage to the Chromebook. Click here for the Chromebook Insurance Program.
